Hello, Twila here. I had a wonderful time in New Orleans. There were people busking in the streets, there was the smell of good food in the air. The campground was great. They had a pool for the summer, lush green grass, great showers, and much more. Although it had some draw backs, like being woke up in the night 5 times in a row by sirens going down the highway which was right next to us, most of it was awesome!
First, we went to this restaurant called Café Du Monde and had beignets, a square of fried dough eaten hot and sprinkled with powdered sugar. We also had hot chocolate. After we ate, my siblings and I explored the park where we ate. We found a street show starting at the front gates of the park. We watched the show, and it was great. The performers were funny and we had an amazing time.
The second thing that we did was to go see a jazz band in Preservation Hall. The band was great even if I don’t really care for jazz. Phoebe met this nice lady that was also in line for Preservation Hall, and they traded pins.
My family and I loved it there, I put it on my list to consider moving to, it was that great. I really do wish I was there for a few more days, there was a lot that I would like to see such as The Museum of World War 2, when I’m older I would like to go to Mardi Gras and eat King Cakes, and so much more.

Twila, I was so happy to read your post about New Orleans! I grew up near there and lived in New Orleans in my 20’s. I rode the streetcar to work almost every day.
Beignets are amazing, the street performers at Jackson Square are fun and talented!
Continue to write! I love reading your stories!
I miss you guys back here in the Willows!
